Whispering River has been producing beautiful books,
calendars, and fine art prints since 1995, all with this
goal: to send a message to preserve the earth by
connecting people with nature through art. Whispering
River does just that - not only with its products, but in
its involvement with One Percent for the Planet, and through
the company’s
mission statement.
Founded by master photographer
Robert Castellino, the Whispering River name came to him
when he was visiting Dinosaur National Monument in
northwestern Colorado. There’s a spot there where three
canyons come together - where pine forest, deciduous forest,
and desert converge. In this particular place - about a mile
from the Green River - there are wildflowers and
honeysuckle, and a 100-foot tall waterfall. Standing there
and drinking in all the beauty, Robert could hear the faint
rushing of the Green River in the distance and thought:
“Whispering River.”
“It was a magical moment,” Robert says. “It was one of those
moments where there’s some sense of understanding that’s
deeper than comprehension.” |
